Around 1966, my grandmother took me to see a play -- MacBird! -- in a Greenwich Village coffee shop. (Tinder-talent alone ain't enough to make a UBERHIPPY; sparking-guidance must be there, too.) The drama was an early anti-LBJ take on MacBeth. Here the three witches were a doctrinaire Marxist, a Black Militant, and a woman hippy. Their refrain was "Trouble stirred is always for the good."
